Since the college is located on the Bengal-Jharkhand border Bengali as a course of study in Arts was included right from the year of establishment of B S K College, Maithon, Dhanbad. The Bengali Department is one of the oldest departments of the college as well as one of its most prosperous. The department has been a window for the young Bengali learners to the highly rich and varied would of Bengali literature. Many good teachers have honoured the department with their committed services down the years. Equipped with adequate books and journals to run the department. The Bengali department has been carrying on its noble task with responsibility.
